Empowering Families Through Positive Support Programme (PSP)
Skills Replacement Approach in PSP
PSP emphasizes the use of skills replacement strategies to address challenging behaviors, empowering children to meet their needs through more appropriate means. By reducing the intensity and frequency of difficult behaviors, PSP facilitates the gradual acquisition of new skills at a pace that fosters cooperation and voluntary participation.
Positive Reinforcement in PSP
Through positive reinforcement and motivational strategies, PSP fosters skill development, employing confidence-building techniques like errorless teaching. This method involves demonstrating desired behaviors, providing praise and rewards, and gradually reducing support to promote independence.
